Welcome New Fifth Grade Students!
I hope
God blesses us with a sunny summer this year. Have a great
time playing, laughing, and traveling during your vacation
time. Do not forget to rest up because fifth grade is full of
adventures!
We
will be traveling back in time to study the history of our
nation. We will begin nearly 3,000 years ago with the ancient
peoples of North America. Then, we will fast forward to the
early explorers of 600 years ago. Before you know it, we will
witness the drafting of the important documents which still guide
our nation today. Finally, we will imagine what the future
holds for our bold country.
Literacy will be an adventure as well. We will
break into our new reading, writing, and spelling
materials. You will each learn to set and achieve academic
goals. Along the way, you may be amazed at how far you will
go. I cannot wait to help you make this successful
journey!
Our
religion studies will be extensive as we consider the role each
sacrament plays in our lives. Studying the courageous lives of
many saints will help deepen our faith. The adventures will
continue as we travel through all of the books of the bible to
enrich our understanding of God’s plan for our
lives.
I
cannot wait to welcome each of you aboard during our Open House
on August 30th. Remember to bring in your
school supplies when you come, so that I can get them properly
stowed before we embark upon our heroic journey. May God bless
you and keep you until then.
Your friend and fellow traveler,
Miss
Wright
