It is the last week of school and am
actually a bit melancholy over the end of the school year. I have
had an incredibly rewarding experience. Returning to teaching was a
joyful challenge. Am honored to have been able to educate your
children and am looking forward to seeing them as eight graders
this Autumn. Am already preparing myself for my next group of
seven graders. I have heard nothing but praises about the six
graders and I can't wait to teach them in
2010-2011.
Do not forget to read your Summer reading
selections. They will be covered during the Fall without fail. The
expectation will be that the novels were read.
I can't forget to mention my excitement
about the Literacy texts. Both, seven and eight grades will be
using the new English book by Houghton Mufflin as the
core of our writing curriculum.Am just blessed with an amazing new curriculum.
Thank you to all the parents for the gift of our wonderful new
materials. I am most grateful for your support and
generosity. We will cover our Summer Reads in
class during the Fall. Elements of Literature will
be used for our literature units.
