7th Grade American History is a chronological, geographic, and thematic encounter with the American experience. In the course of their studies students are introduced to the challenges of democratization in an increasingly diverse society. Economic, social, political, and cultural transformations are explored via research projects, historical simulations, debates, and class discussion. As students learn about and grapple with the complexities of their national heritage, responsible citizenship is intelligently informed.

General Homework Policy:  Homework should be done completely and by the start of the period it is due.  It is acceptable to ask peers for help, provided that you are doing the work yourself, and the "help" is limited to what is truly necessary.  Copying/pasting or sharing work for the purpose of receiving credit when the work was not done is considered plaigerism and will be treated as a serious breach of academic conduct .  Lakeside homework policy is 20 min. per night for a 7th grader.  Longer assignments will be distributed with enough time to complete it for the average student.  This includes class work time in my calculations.  Late homework will be accepted for partial credit.
