Standard 5.2.D: Planning
for Student Understanding
Standard 5.2.D asks teachers to positively impact student learning
through integrating technology into the both the instruction and
assessment. For me this standard asks “how can a
teacher use technology in the classroom as a tool to redefine the
relationships of the classroom where “students are the
experts” of the knowledge they encounter, acquire and master
as well as and how they share it with their peers both in class
presentations and publishing on the web. My larger question
is can this role reversal, that is enabled through technology
positively impact student learning? Do you focus on the
technology or on the learning? When does technology get in
the way of the learning and when does the learning get in the way
of technology?
