Course:          日本語 (Nihongo) Japanese

 

Suggested materials:

1.      Adventures in Japanese Textbook (check out only)

2.      Pencils & good erasers

3.      Spiral notebook for journal 

4.      Small three-ring binder

5.      Unlined small index cards (optional index card holder)

 

Standards: Based on the National Standards for Foreign Language Learning, students will be exposed to the following areas: Communication, Cultural Competence, Connections, Comparisons, and Community.

  1. Essential Learning 1: Students will be able to engage in conversations, provide & obtain information, express feelings & emotions and exchange opinions
  2. Essential Learning 2: Students will be able to understand & interpret written language on a variety of topics
  3. Essential Learning 3: Students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between perspectives & products in the culture studied and recognize how these are related to the cultural practices
